This printed proximity sensor is based on textile materials and is flexible and inexpensive. It enables contact-free switching of electronic devices. Sensing electrodes are based on silver, which were printed by screen printing and inkjet printing. The sensing layer is protected with a printed electrically insulating layer, which provides good abrasion resistance.
